It’s official…the final results are in! The Medford Parks and Recreation Foundation in partnership with the Medford Rogue Rotary, has announced that the 2019 Parks Uncorked event raised $23,688.
“It was a challenge for this year’s committee to change the event’s location from Pear Blossom Park to the Santo Center,” shared Alex Modrell, the event’s coordinator, “but in hindsight, moving the event indoors was a smart move for sure.” The Rotary Event Chair, Jeff Benham and the Medford Parks Foundation Event Chair, Natalie Williams along with several committee members agreed that the move indoors would not only ensure the event would not encounter valley smoke or adverse weather conditions, but would also serve to give the event an opportunity to grow.
This year the event set a new record, have secured more that 110 silent auction items (over the 80 items secured the year before) and offered some extraordinarily new and unique oral auction items as well. With the East Main Band playing live music in the background, guests of the event enjoyed a wide variety of hors d’ oeuvres, specialty wine tastings provided by the Bear Creek Wine Trail members, as well as several brews from local pubs. Newly added this year was the brewmaster from the RAM Restaurant & Brewery and the distribution representative from Wildcraft, both of whom “wowed” the crowd with their unique flavors.
The event typically sells out fast. Make sure you don’t miss next year’s event. For more information go here.
