The “Play Every Day” scholarship fund, established in 2006, offers children and youth opportunities to participate in recreational and enrichment programs offered by Medford Parks & Recreation. This fund has been funding scholarships for day camps, swimming lessons, and youth sports programming since its inception.

Though we were not able to hold the Parks Uncorked annual fundraiser this year, the Foundation’s investment account performed well. A major endowment from the Alice F. Saunders estate received a year before the pandemic made this year’s continued funding at this level possible.  We are very thankful to Alice Saunders for supporting the Medford Parks & Recreation Foundation with that legacy gift.

Additional thanks goes to Cow Creek tribe for its donation of $3,500 to the Foundation which was added to supplement the $15,000 from the investment account returns to fund the “Play Every Day” scholarship.
